Caravan Clubs
 |
There are many caravan clubs and associations in the UK offering a range of services and benefits to their members. Such benefits range from discounted rates on ferries and caravan insurance, help and advice, and access to organised events throughout the country to name but a few.
Invariably caravan owners will tend to chose a club that caters more for their particular tastes - including choice of caravan manufacturer, location or even holiday habits. It is not uncommon for a caravanner to choose a particular club solely to be part of a group people with similar tastes.
Caravan clubs can usually be split into two areas: general clubs and caravan owners' clubs, many of which are represented by the Association of Caravan and Camping Exempted Organisations (ACCEO).

General caravan
clubs
The national caravan clubs usually have a small membership fee, but offer their members many benefits, including priority access to many of their own associated caravan sites. Discounted insurance, special rates on breakdown and recovery services, help and advice, and many other benefits are often available to a club's members.
Regional caravan clubs can also provide many of these benefits, but generally within a certain geographical radius. They also arrange many local events where it is possible to park your caravan within easy reach. Many of these local clubs are members of the ACCEO, which can arrange further benefits to its members.

Caravan owners clubs
There is a caravan owners club for most types of caravan. These groups are normally run by committee and run caravan rallies frequently throughout the year. These can be based in the UK and Europe. Discounts are often available from caravan related businesses to members of the various caravan owners clubs. This can include insurance and breakdown cover. Interested parties must own the caravan represented by the club to be eligible to join.
If you are interested in caravanning, but would like help, advice and the company of other people like yourself it is well worth joining with a Caravan Club or the Caravan Owners Club associated with the make of caravan you own.

Organisations
Many of the local camping and caravanning clubs are represented by ACCEO, the Association of Caravan and Camping Exempted Organisations. This association represents nearly 200 caravan and camping clubs and provide services and access to facilities not normally directly available to the individual clubs. It can also provide protection to club members, and offers help and advice on caravan/camping related topics. To find out more information visit the organisations website on http://www.acceo.org.uk.
